On November 12, Roots for Boots “crashed” Sgt Lewis Douglas’s church service at Church of Deliverance in Downingtown, PA to join the congregation in delivering a great gift to him. It has been a long time coming, but two communities came together, and as a result, our TET Vet, Sgt Lewis Douglas will now be able to continue to enjoy the outdoors with his family! Declining mobility as a result of service related medical conditions left Sgt Douglas uncertain of his future with regard to tending to his goats, horses, roaming his 30 acres or enjoying hunting season. Thanks to the generosity of the Roots for Boots supporters, he no longer has that worry. He was taking a chair with him to walk his property, taking frequent breaks to catch his breath and regain mobility. When asked what the track chair will do for him, Sgt Douglas responded that it will mean a lot to be able to enjoy the outdoors stress free. It will not only affect him in a positive way physically but psychologically as well as the outdoors greatly lifts his spirits and helps him to cope with his PTSD. He is so grateful for this gift that has been given to him from a giving community that thanks him for his service and sacrifice! Roots for Boots thanks Pastor Brown and the congregation of Church of Deliverance for their wonderful hospitality …
